Steve Pattee – Administrator, US Editor, Reviewer

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone. When you're sitting home alone, watching TV and you feel an odd breeze; that's Steve Pattee coming by to keep an eye on you. He's the man with the red right hand. When you think you've got it all figured out, it's because Steve Pattee has shown you a glimpse of reality. But only the reality he wants you to see, the one he made for you.

You can contact Steve Pattee if you dare...

Daniel Benson – Webmaster, UK Editor

Daniel J. Benzine, of the South Birmingham Benzines, made his fortune in the tea trade as a Major General in India. Later, he and his man-servant Clive, who was also a Major General, sought fame and glory in the deepest jungles of the Dark Continent. Together they discovered the Lost City of Goatse, where they revelled in the mysterious, yet appalling rituals they found there. Today, Daniel likes to spend time sipping tea in his English country garden while Clive tells droll stories about the septics.

James "Spez" Ferguson – Reviewer

Spez has a 2nd grade reading level and, as a result, only reads books with pictures. Horror is his 5th favorite genre right after romantic comedy and just before silent films. No one knows why he's here, but he won't leave.

You can follow Spez's ramblings on his Twitter page or email him here.

Robert Gold – Reviewer

Robert's favorite genres include horror (foreign and domestic), Asian cinema and pornography (foreign and domestic). His ability to seek out and enjoy shot on video (SOV) horror movies is unmatched. His love of films with a budget under $100,000 is unapologetic. He is Robert Gold.

Do not fear him. Do not pity him. Do NOT bore him.

You can contact him, though. Just send an E-mail to Robert Gold.

becky-roberts Becky Roberts - A Horrorble Reviewer

Having wiped out the horror section of the local Apollo DVD store due to countless pizza and horror sleepovers (a fond Friday night pastime), Becky, then 13, asked for one of the few remaining titles on the shelf... The Last House on the Left. She was told NO. It wasn't "suitable." Scorned and undefeated she turned to HMV (and her reluctant mother). £3 - bargain.

Since, Becky has devoured horror and grown particularly interested in Foreign and Asian genre films (and has written a 12,000 word dissertation on it if anyone's up for a bit of light reading!) She is now a blogger of horrorble films and a journalist, and reviews and reports on horror in nine tenths of her spare time. It is no lie that she enjoys the events with free drinks the most.

You can bloody well tweet her or read her blog.

Angry Scholar - Reviewer, Folklore King

Angry Scholar loves the supernatural, proprietary Scottish fabrics, video games, and frozen dairy treats. He has a blog where he obsesses over these things. Creaking old castles, lights over the moors, and ghostly faces in the shadows are his rai·son d'être. Because, you know. He has no life, but damn he looks good in tweed.

You can read his Twitter feed here or email him here.

R.J. MacReady - Reviewer

R.J. MacReady likes to be naked. He likes the feel of cold sheets against naked skin. His dislikes include the word bukkake(not the act, just the word), people, and Christoper Nolan movies with the exception of Memento. He digs horror movies, even though his first memory of horror films is watching the first Friday the 13th movie while a bear mauled his family in the other room. He admits that most of his bio is as fake as his moniker, but witness protection won't let him use his real name (or the bear might find him and finish the job it started that night).

He can be reached here, but cautions that he checks his email when he's good and goddamn ready, and not a moment before.

jennifer turner Jennifer Turner - Reviewer

Jennifer's love of horror began when she was five and her father let her watch A Nightmare on Elm Street.

She is an avid bookworm and part-time misanthrope who sometimes wonders if an apocalypse wouldn't be all that bad.

Shane Douglas Lewis Shane Douglas Keene - Reviewer

Shane Douglas Keene is a reviewer, columnist, and poet living in Portland, Oregon. He spends his spare time drinking scotch and/or beer, playing guitar, and thinking of ways to scare small children and puppies. He pays meticulous attention to beard maintenance, mostly because it freaks people out, and he writes about dark fiction and poetry in various places, including his blog at Shotgun Logic.

You can send nice words to him here or stalk him on Twitter and Facebook.

Ryan Noble Ryan Noble - Reviewer

It's beginning to get a little worrying how many people have said that Ryan is the kind of person you'd expect to be a serial killer... He hasn't killed anyone, yet, but that could be because he's too busy delving into horror of all other kinds. Games, films, books, comics, manga - you name it, he loves it, and writes about it. He'd love to write his own horror some day, but until then you can follow his mad scribblings on Twitter, or get in touch with him via This email address is being protected from spambots. richie staff Richie Corelli - Reviewer

Richie isn’t ignoring you. He just can’t hear you over the music. He’s been plugged in to his headphones for decades, diving into the zine culture of the '90s, blogging relentlessly through the '00s and beyond. He knows more about certain bands than he knows about himself. His love of music is rivaled only by his love of horror. If it’s creepy and spooky, he’s into it.

Horror DNA sutures his two passions together, giving him a platform to analyze and express his feelings on horror scores, soundtracks and live performances. It’s a celebration of all that goes bump in the night.

You can contact Richie here.

ryan holloway Ryan Holloway - Reviewer As far back as he can remember Ryan has always had an obsession with films, and horror in particular. 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and ‘Alien’ were the first films that really stuck in the psyche and rather than scarring his tiny mind and running up a huge therapy bill, those films created a fascination with the dark side of life and art. Brought up by Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers (not literally), horror will always fascinate him no matter how absurd, dark, twisted, barmy or just plain wrong. Horror DNA gives him the opportunity, and excuse, to legitimise his macabre tastes and watch whatever strangeness comes his way.

You can conconnect with Ryan on Facebook.

Tony Jones - Reviewer

Such is Tony’s love of books, he has spent well over twenty years working as a school librarian where he is paid to talk to kids about horror. He is a Scotsman in exile who has lived in London for over two decades and credits discovering SE Hinton and Robert Cormier as a 13-year-old for his huge appetite for books. Tony previously spent five years writing The Greatest Scrum That Ever Was, a history book very few people bought. In the past he has written for Horror Novel Reviews and is a regular contributor to The Ginger Nuts of Horror website, often specialising in YA horror.

You can contact Tony here.

Stuart D. Monroe - Reviewer

Stuart D. Monroe is a man of many faces – father, husband, movie reviewer, published author of short horror, unsuccessful screenwriter (for now), rabid Clemson Tiger, Southern gentleman, and one hell of a model American who goes by the handle "Big Daddy Stu" or "Sir". He's also highly disturbed and wears that fact like a badge of honor. He is a lover of all things horror with a particular taste for the fare of the Italians and the British. He sometimes gets aroused watching the hardcore stuff, but doesn't bother worrying about whether he was a serial killer in a past life as worrying is for the weak. He was raised in the video stores of the '80s and '90s. The movie theater is his cathedral. He worships H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, and Clive Barker. When he writes, he listens obsessively to either classical music or the works of Goblin to stimulate the neural pathways. His favorite movie is Dawn of the Dead. His favorite book is IT. His favorite TV show is LOST.

Hailing from the greatest place on Earth – a.k.a. Clemson, South Carolina – he currently resides in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area with his wife of nearly a quarter-century, his equally nutty and beautiful daughter, his aging female progenitor, and two adorable dogs that eat all the evidence when a body must be disposed of.

You can follow him on Twitter, Facebook, or contact him here.

tracy robinson Tracy Robinson - Reviewer

Tracy Robinson is a horror reader and reviewer. She posts reviews on Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads/Amazon. She reviews at least bimonthly for Sci Fi and Scary and she has five book reviews (and more to come) published in Rue Morgue magazine. She is also a member of the Ladies of Horror Fiction team, a grassroots organization which strives to lift up women horror authors. In her “spare” time (ha!) she teaches college literature and composition courses as well as high school English, all while spending as much time outside with her kids and husband.

Joe Haward - Reviewer

If Joe isn’t holding a crucifix and mumbling incoherent prayers to the demons that he sold his soul to, you’ll find him writing horror and drinking his seventh cup of tea before midday—he is British after all. Someone once told him that he was a terrible writer, so he proved them right by publishing books that no one in their right mind would buy. There are rumours that his wife and children have never read anything he has ever written, but Joe can neither confirm nor deny such reports. Feel free to ask him how to make a good cup of tea here, or, if you’re really bored, follow him on Twitter.

ricardo denis Ricardo Serrano Denis - Reviewer

Ricardo believes that everything can be explained with horror. It’s why he uses it in his History classes and why he writes about horror comics. He holds a Master’s degree in Comics from the University of Dundee in Scotland in which he studied the relationship between Frankenstein and Marvel’s Ultron. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and is now based in Brooklyn. You can follow him on Twitter or contact him here.

Kat Albrecht – Reviewer

Kat Albrecht is a legally trained sociologist and computational social scientist studying how complex data can inform policy, with particular emphasis on the nexus of fear, criminal data, and the law. In other words, she’s a college professor who studies horror films sometimes. Her research specialties are practical special effects, creature features, and arguing about the meaning of genre. Kat will gleefully review any film that takes place in the ocean or in outer space and exclusively paints portraits of herself.

You can follow Kat on Twitter, learn more about her research here (disclaimer: it might be boring), or contact her here.

Stephen McClurg – Reviewer

No matter how hard he tries to focus on music, Stephen always gets called back to horror culture. The inciting incident is likely the night his grandmother cackled through his wide-eyed and white-knuckled first viewing of Jaws at three. The ‘70s were a different time. You can read more of his writing and hear music here.

Over the years, he has mostly published poetry and essays, but started writing with a review section for the Halloween edition of the sixth-grade school newspaper. He rated titles like Creepshow with a short description and illustrated pumpkins. His teacher loved it, but the principal shredded the final version before distribution since all the movies were rated R.

You can follow Stephen on Twitter here or contact him here.

sam andujar Samantha Andujar – Reviewer

A music journalist and artist with an appetite for rock music, videogames and horror, Samantha Andujar is the creator of Into the Void and a writer for Outburn and Spill Magazine when she's not binge watching and analyzing horror films or drawing the characters that inspire them for work of her own.
