THE RACK: STORIES INSPIRED BY VINTAGE HORROR PAPERBACKS COVER REVEAL
I love anthologies. I think I say that every time I'm mentioning one for some reason or another. Not only that, but I also love it when we get opportunities for cover reveals. The horror genre in literature is on fire right now, as are the covers. We are in a new renaissance age of both, and, man, I'm so here for it.
Now, all that said, when I was offered to reveal the cover of The Rack: Stories Inspired by Vintage Horror Paperbacks, edited by Tom Deady, I jumped on it because it was the best of all worlds. First, the title is an instabuy. Stories inspired by vintage horror paperbacks? Yes! Where do I sign up? Then I get a glimpse at the table of contents, and it's overflowing with authors I love. The sweet, luscious cherry on top? That beautiful cover by one of my favorite artists, Lynne Hanson. This is a winner from top to bottom. Check out what's in store below!
The Rack: Stories Inspired by Vintage Horror Paperbacks is an anthology full of stories based on the horror paperbacks from the 1970s and 80s that an eager reader might have run into the grocery or drug stores to find, just waiting to be terrified. The brainchild of Bram Stoker Award Winning Author Tom Deady, he’s compiled an array of award-winning talent and their stories based on those paperbacks. He even gathered Will Errickson, who co-wrote Paperbacks From Hell with Grady Hendrix, to write the introduction.
To further sweeten an all-star cast deal, he also enlisted the amazing horror artist Lynne Hansen to create the cover, which is revealed today! One excited reader might also now be drawn to this cover among a slew of paperbacks on the rack, too – and in this day and age, the rack being online and at conventions, because we all still have paperback panic, don’t we?
Without further ado, please check out this cool cover and spread it far and wide. And if you like, and we hope you do, pre-order is open now as well, which is just as fun as grabbing from the discount store rack. Almost.

The Rack, About –
It’s 1980 and you have three crisp dollar bills in your pocket. You run to the drugstore, or maybe the supermarket, because you know THE RACK will be there, waiting... that black wire rack, tempting you with the latest and best horror paperbacks and their lurid covers.
You spin it slowly, ignoring the grating squeaks that try to warn you of the dangers THE RACK holds. You shiver as you take in the glossy covers: gothic mansions cloaked in fog, bulging eyes on blood-soaked faces, and all the creepy dolls you could ever wish for. You weigh the possibilities, pondering which nightmare to select, the vengeful vampire, the werewolf, demonic children, or perhaps parasitic insects? It doesn’t matter because THE RACK will beckon to you long after the last page is turned. THE RACK always contains new tales of terror by today’s masters of horror. And THE RACK is never done with you.
The twenty stories you’re holding are throwbacks to those golden years of horror, presented to you by today’s brightest stars in the genre. Giant spiders, haunted books, swarms of cicadas, killer bears, chemical spills, and so many more chronicles of carnage and camp await you. And did we mention the creepy dolls?
So go ahead...spin THE RACK, if you dare.
But don't say we didn't warn you.
